One year ago, I made a choice that changed my life:
I went full Carnivore. 🥩
The first six months were nothing short of a miracle. I was dropping weight quickly, my energy was through the roof, and I was working out every single day. Most importantly, my pain was at the lowest it had been in 35 years—since I was first diagnosed with reactive seronegative arthritis at age 17. I felt like I had finally found the “cheat code” to my own body.
But then, life happened. I left a position I absolutely loved, surrounded by a supportive team who cheered me on every step of the way. I moved into a new role that turned out to be incredibly stressful and emotionally draining.
Suddenly, the weight loss stopped. My pain began to creep back up, and while my energy was still better than it was before the diet, that “superhuman” feeling started to fade. I’ll be honest: I started to doubt if this was still worth it. I even spent a month “cheating” on the weekends.
The result? My health plummeted. That month taught me two vital lessons:
-
The Carnivore lifestyle is my foundation. My body cannot handle the old way of eating, and this path is definitely the right one for me.
-
Stress is a physical force. You can have a “perfect” diet, but intense stress can stall progress and impact your health just as much as food can.
As I head into Year Two, my goal isn’t just about the food—it’s about my reaction to the world. I’m focusing on managing stress, staying strong in my choices, and getting back to that vibrant version of myself.
Here’s to another year of healing. ✨
