Lately, I’ve been looking for a more consistent way to keep my freezer stocked with high-quality, farm-to-table meat without having to constantly hunt for sales.
I’ve done a deep dive into five major Canadian meat delivery services to see which one offers the best “bang for your buck” while maintaining the quality we need as carnivores.
Why Skip the Grocery Store?

1. Modern Pastures (Regenerative Farming)
Modern Pastures is for the person who cares about soil health and transparency. They focus on regenerative agriculture, which many believe produces more nutrient-dense meat.

The Box: Their Steak Box ($269) is a heavy-hitter, usually featuring high-end cuts like Ribeyes and NY Strips. If you want a more budget-friendly entry, their Value Box sits at $129. With 14 steaks in this box, it comes out to $19.21 per steak, and that is with most of them being premium cuts. This seems like the best deal to me, so on my next payday I am going to order this and then I will do a video of the unboxing and let you know how it goes.
2. Ribeye Butcher Shop (The Specialist)
What I love about this shop is they actually have a box named for us.

The Box: The Carnivore Box ($169.99) is curated specifically for those who eat strictly animal products. It’s designed to give you a mix of steaks and higher-fat items that keep you satiated. This comes with 4 NY Strip Steaks, 4 Pork Chops, 4 Chicken Breasts, Ground Beef, Liver and Marrow Bones. So this is a good option for more options than just steak. Their Steak Lover’s Box, is $179 and has 8 Steaks (Ribeye, Strips, etc…) They also offer a Ribeye Starter Box for $115 if you want to test the waters.
3. truLOCAL (The Household Name)
You’ve likely seen their ads because they have one of the most robust delivery networks in Canada.

The Box: Their Starter Box ($155) works on a “points” system. You get 9 points to spend however you like—bacon, ribeyes, ground beef, or even wild-caught fish. It’s the most flexible option if you like to change your menu every month.
4. Gemstone Grass Fed Beef (The Purist’s Choice)
If you are looking for beef that is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, Gemstone is a top-tier Alberta-based family farm.

The Box: Their Condo Box ($165.99) is brilliant for people with standard-sized freezers. It gives you a “tasting menu” of steaks, ground beef, and patties without requiring a chest freezer.
5. Sunworks Farm (The Organic Standard)
Sunworks is famous for their strict organic certifications and SPCA-certified animal welfare standards.

The Box: They offer smaller, more targeted boxes. For example, you can grab a NY/Striploin Steak Box for around $99-$115. This is great if you already have plenty of ground beef and just need to supplement your “steak night” inventory.
